Granada City

Granada is one of Nicaragua's most important cities, both economically and politically. It is the oldest city in the country, founded in 1524. For many years, Granada vied with Leon for the right to be considered the main city of Nicaragua. To stop the debate, in the middle of the 19th century a new capital, Managua, was specially built between Granada and Leon.

Granada today is one of the most visited and favorite tourist cities of Nicaragua.
