Bruneians talk proudly about the free education they enjoy - both in Brunei, and abroad.
You cannot help being enthused when you take a walk around the ground of Jerudong International School of Brunei – a leading residential school where children from the ages of 2 to 18 study.
There’s a handsome modern building which includes a library built from glass, with fish swimming in the pool around it. You can see the faces of children of all nations.
The University of Brunei is the country’s topmost educational establishment. The University opened in 1985, and has links with many universities all over the world – as well as a multinational student and staff body.
Currently the University has five academic faculties and six teaching centres covering several subjects – including Islamic Studies, Business, Arts, Science, and Health Sciences
The Hassanal Bolkian National Stadium
The Hassanal Bolkian National Stadium is one of the best sports facilities in the whole of South-East Asia, and home to the Brunei national sports team. It was built to conform to Olympic standards, and includes facilities for athletics, field events, a tennis center, squash courts, a swimming pool, the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club course, a large golf course near the international airport. There is also a complete range of support facilities, including a research, diagnostic and treatment centre for sports injuries and medical issues. The stadium is a favourite venue for both local and international soccer teams from Asia.
It seems as though everyone in Brunei ought to be able to play golf. The capital has five magnificentlyequipped golf clubs.
