Sagada Mountain Province

Sagada Province is located in a valley located at the head of the Malitep tributary of the Chico River, about one and a half kilometers above sea level in the mountains of Central Cordillera, covering the main Cordillera ridges and the Ilokos Range. Perhaps due to a lack of transport and volunteers, few conquistadors were able to reach Sagada during the Spanish era. As a result, this is one of the few places where the culture of indigenous peoples with little Spanish influence has been preserved. Here you can see limestone caves with burials in them, as well as peculiar holidays and rituals.
