The National Museum of Singapore

This is Singapore's oldest museum – planned from 1823, and whose doors finally opened in 1849. The building where the museum is located nowadays was built in 1887, and its most recent reconstruction took place in 2006. Today it's a modern museum complex, containing a number of permanent displays. 

Visitors might be particularly interested in the '700 Years Of Singapore' exhibition, which features not only the usual museum-like kind of historical artifacts on display, but also the latest generation of multimedia and interactive exhibits.
