The Asian Civilisations Museum

Singapore's cultural traditions are rooted in the traditions of many different peoples of Asia, whose emigrants made new lives in Singapore. Often the histories of these peoples are more ancient than Singapore's own history. The Asian Civilisations Museum's task is the research of the history and culture of the peoples of China, SE Asia, Southern and Western Asia. 

The displays are attractively laid out, with the stories of individual exhibits leading on to explanations of complete cultural national backgrounds.

As well as its permanent collections, there  are often visiting exhibitions from the world’s  most famous museums.
