Production of carnival masks and accessories
Masks depicting folk and mythical heroes are a mandatory attribute of carnival participants, as well as a variety of dance performances in Nicaragua. Therefore, the products of the family workshop for the manufacture of masks are in great demand.
The base of the mask is made of paper pulp onto which soaked old newspapers go.
The form is created manually. First, a layer of paper pulp is applied, then it is laid with sheets of wet paper. Then the next layer. And so - until ready.
The next step is drying.
Then surface treatment and primer. Only after that the mask is painted.
