Mercado Oriental Market Managua is the largest market in Central America. Locals joke that if you haven’t found something in this market, then it’s impossible to find it at all.
At first glance, it’s just a very large market. A huge number of diverse pavilions covered with homemade roofs. Periodically, there are fires that destroy entire blocks of the wound. Now, several multi-story pavilions are under construction on the territory of the market.
There are also residential areas in the market that are not heavily controlled by the government. Even with the police escort, we were not allowed to go there.
By the way, there are a lot of women in the police.
Tourists, especially with expensive photo equipment, are not recommended to visit the market.
A significant part of trade is in food.
There are different pets and birds.
The iguana sale area looks quite exotic, which is a very common product for Nicaraguans. Iguana costs about 5 dollars.
