Museum of Traditions and Legends
The Museum of Traditions and Legends presents an interesting collection of objects related to about 14 myths and legends, most of which were born in Leon. The museum itself is located in the old prison building, which was used for this purpose under the regime of the Somoza family between 1921 and 1979.

The mosaic paintings in the courtyard of the museum depict the plots of famous Nicaraguan legends, such as a pig sorcerer, a father without a head, a golden crab, a golden crocodile and others.
And on the whitewashed walls of the building and rooms that previously served as cameras, there are drawings about the various torture methods that prisoners were subjected to.
The exposition of one of the rooms is dedicated to the history of the museum and its founder.
Other cameras contain mannequins depicting heroes of folk legends and scenes from myths.

A tank is kept in a separate house, where prisoners were released.
And on the opposite side of the street, the ruins of the temple, which were hit by shells during the storming of the prison, are preserved. Now this is a memorial.
