Orinoco Village
This small village located in the Pearl Lagoon is considered the capital of many Garifuna communities in the Caribbean of Nicaragua.
You can get to the village of Orinoco only by water from the city of Bluefields. About two hours on a speed boat on mangrove ducts.
Despite the fact that the village is far from developed areas, Orinoco has all the necessary conditions for people to get an acceptable quality of life. Currently, there is drinking water and electricity.

There is only one Garifuna Hostel hotel in the village with decent conditions for tourists. Unfortunately, during my stay at the festival all the rooms were occupied, although there was a preliminary reservation. But, locals rent rooms in their homes during the festival. Acceptable.
