The village of Muang Ngoi

Another of Laos’s ecotourism centres is the village of Muang Ngoi, on the River Nam Ou, and set up specially for tourism. There’s no access by dry land – only by boat. There are several dozen inexpensive guesthouses, and tour route maps inscribed on wooden boards. There are river trips, bike trips, mountain and cave excursions.
