The Pak Ou Caves are located 25 kilometres from Luang Probang. Statues of the Buddha have been built in the caves over many centuries – and even before Buddhism, the caves had a reputation as the home of different spirits. Buddhist pilgrims and tourists arrive at the caves every day, to experience their atmosphere and cool temperature. The only way of getting here is by boat.
