Kampung Ayer Water Village
The Water Village - Kampung Ayer - is the place most visited by tourists. It's a really unusual experience to float down its main streets, and take in the wooden palisades decorated with potted plants.

But it's not done for tourists - local people have lived this way in the Water Village for over six hundred years. There are schools, shops, clinics, mosques and a police station in the Water Village. New upscale homes are being built, and even suburbs of the Water Village.
